Copper Roofing

Solid copper, formed by hand.

A copper roof is a hundred-year decision. We treat it that way · from the gauge of the sheet to the last hidden clip.

Freshly installed copper roof with curved bellcast eaves and standing seam panels
Approach

We install copper roofing in all of the traditional forms: diamond and rectangular shingles, flat-seam, batten-seam, and standing seam panels. Every project starts with a site measure and a detailed drawing set, then moves into our shop where the panels, flashings and ornamental pieces are formed on our brakes and rollers.

We use only 16 or 20 oz copper on residential roofs, fastened with stainless steel clips that allow the metal to move with the seasons. Nothing is glued, nothing is caulked as a shortcut. Done well, a copper roof will still be watertight when the shingles on the house next door have been replaced four times.
